FEA for Titanium Bicycle Frame

We are looking for a specialist to help assess the strength, stiffness, safety, and reliability of the design before the prototyping and production stage. The work will focus on verifying the geometry of a hardtail bicycle frame and its connecting elements, identifying stress concentrations, and recommending practical design changes for the engineering team.

Scope of the assignment

The project includes the analysis of the frame and key structural areas, in particular:

  • head tube area,
  • bridges and connecting elements,
  • dropouts,
  • joints and areas exposed to the highest loads,
  • titanium connecting elements and components manufactured using 3D printing technology.

The scope of work includes:

  • review of the existing CAD geometry,
  • definition of realistic load cases for the bicycle frame and execution of structural simulations,
  • delivery of a technical report including screenshots.

Objective of the analysis

The objective of the analysis is to verify the design in terms of strength, stiffness, safety, durability, and compliance with the relevant ISO standards for bicycle frames and their components.

Preferred experience

  • relevant engineering education,
  • previous experience in structural FEA / FEM analysis,
  • experience with bicycle frames, lightweight structures, titanium components, or additive manufacturing technologies will be considered an additional advantage.

Please contact us with:

  • a short description of your experience,
  • examples of similar projects,
  • simulation software used,
  • an estimated quotation,
  • estimated delivery timeline.
